Keeping fit at home during isolation – Apollos Boxing tips, due to the corona virus outbreak and with all boxing gyms and gyms in general shut down to halt the spread of the virus. The government have put restrictions on outdoor training and the amount of time we should spend outside of the house. These restrictions are very important to stop the spread of the virus and at Apollos Boxing in Bolton we are taking these measures very seriously.

We are providing several training program to all Apollos Boxing students from our amateur boxers to the people who just use boxing as a way to keep fit, the training programs are designed to benefit each person specifically to either help build strength or just to keep them losing weight while all the gyms are closed.

At Apollos Boxing in Bolton we have a large selection of members from amateur boxers to professional MMA fighters but the majority of our students mainly use boxing as a way to lose weight and to keep fit so the home work outs are basically a way to maintain their fitness and their weight loss.

One of the more basic fitness programs we have advised our students to take up is just to pick ten exercises and to complete 30 seconds of the exercise and have 30 seconds rest, it’s a very basic form of interval training which not only doesn’t take up much of your day but also help’s to burn fat for a long time after you finish training.

As well as these body weight intervals at home you can also go outside for either a walk or a run and depending on your fitness ability and time Apollos Boxing also advises some short intervals one day something simple again like 30 seconds fast and 30 seconds slow , on the next a slow recovery walk or run and on the third a fast pace run at roughly sixty percent of your maximum the day after and just cycle these three variations each day.

The training itself is very important but at Apollos Boxing we always advise our students not just on the physical aspects of training but also the nutrition and mental side of the training, we would advise everyone at times of low activity to cut down on carbohydrates and up their fat intake to maintain calories without adding too much body fat.

Apollos Boxing in Bolton would like to offer anyone this help so if you are interested in keeping fit while you cannot attend your usual gym or need anymore information on keeping fit and in shape in these hard times then please feel free to message for some information.
