Apollo’s Boxing – Recent Work with WhysUp at Little Lever High School
Apollo’s Boxing in Bolton recently delivered a powerful six-session programme at Little Lever High School, in collaboration with the incredible team at WhysUp. This initiative aimed to support students’ mental health, wellbeing, and personal development through a combination of physical activity and open, honest conversation.
Over the course of six weeks, students took part in structured boxing sessions led by Apollo’s experienced coaches, focusing on discipline, confidence, and resilience. Alongside the physical training, WhysUp facilitated impactful discussions around mental health, mindset, decision-making, and the importance of speaking up.
Each session was designed to not only challenge students physically but also help them reflect on their emotions, behaviour, and goals—creating a safe space where they could grow both inside and outside the ring.
The programme proved to be a meaningful experience for everyone involved, with students engaging positively and showing real progress week by week. Feedback from both staff and pupils at Little Lever has been incredibly encouraging, and we’re proud to have made a genuine impact.
At Apollo’s Boxing in Bolton, we believe that sport can be a powerful force for change—and this project is a perfect example of what’s possible when we combine physical training with mental strength and community support.
A huge thank you to WhysUp and Little Lever High School for helping us make a difference.
