Mixed results for Bolton’s Apollos Amateur Boxing team, the Apollos amateur boxing team took three last minute boxing bouts this weekend just gone.
On Thursday one of our boxers Dan Naylor took a bout taking place on Saturday over in Manchester, in this bout Dan Naylor showed his usual aggressive boxing style and managed to get a stoppage in the second round in great amateur boxing performance!
Next up on Saturday two of our other amateur boxers at Apollos Boxing in Bolton took bouts that were taking place the day after on Sunday.
Both of the boxers showed great skills and a lot of character in taking a bout on such short notice, first to box was Bailey Tildsley who after travelling back from Dubai Friday morning. He put on a great performance but wasn’t his usual sharp self but still nearly managed to stop his more experienced opponent in the last round. Bailey lost on a very close split decision on a home town show.
Up next was Fynn Dickinson who is still yet to get a win on the amateur circuit despite some very good performance’s. In his bout on Sunday he started the fight very sharp landing heavy combinations on his opponent and boxing very smoothly.
The second and third round went exactly the same and we were sure he had secured the win, unfortunately the judges gave a split decision to the other corner, it was a confusing decision and even the referee raised Fynn’s hand as the winner but quickly changed it to the other corner.
As always the Apollos amateur boxing team in Bolton put on a great display on the road, our goal at Apollos is to get our amateur boxers as much experience as possible and we are looking to have a very busy year on the amateur boxing circuit!
