Apollos Boxing in Bolton is thrilled to announce a fantastic showing at this year’s Manchester Box Cup, with standout performances from two of our rising amateur stars: Harley Shepherdson and Roland Kovac.
Harley Shepherdson Claims Gold
Harley Shepherdson delivered a sensational performance throughout the tournament, showcasing sharp technique, composure, and relentless pressure. In the final, Harley dominated from the opening bell, leaving no doubt in the judges’ minds and securing gold in style. This is a monumental achievement for both Harley and the club, highlighting the incredible progress he’s made in and out of the ring.
Harley has only been boxing for Apollos Boxing in Bolton for less than two months and after learning his craft at another top class amateur boxing gym it has made our work very easy!
Roland Kovac Narrowly Misses Out in Super Heavyweight Final
In the super heavyweight division, Roland Kovac powered through to the final with commanding victories, demonstrating raw strength and impressive boxing IQ. In a hard-fought final bout, Roland pushed the pace and left everything in the ring. Despite a razor-thin decision loss, Roland walks away with a well-earned silver medal and the respect of everyone who witnessed his performance.
Roland was only offered this bout with two days notice and put everything on the line almost winning a gold medal but all the coaches at Apollos Boxing in Bolton are confident he will win something this season!
