Boxing for fitness and weight loss, At Apollo’s Boxing in Bolton we coach people not just to compete in boxing but also to get fit and lose weight.

Boxing is a brilliant way to lose weight as in every boxing session it is possible to burn up-to 600 calories!

Every session at Apollo’s Boxing in Bolton combines boxing technique drills and boxing pad-work where you and either your training partner or your boxing coach are working together for the hour.

The way that boxing training helps to burn so many calories is that it is by its nature interval training where you carry out a period of work with a period of rest, this causes your heart rate to raise and then lower when this happens consistently your body not only burns calories while you work but also when you have stopped training too. There are also a lot of body weight resistance exercises in the classes including everyone’s favourites – Burpees, press ups, sit ups and a variety of different body weight exercises and plenty of core exercises thrown in the mix too!
